ABOUT
Bookmark League was founded by a 4th-grader named Chris Shao in 2022. He started the bookmark business to compete with the girls' team in his class. With the support of Chris' mom, he developed their products and began selling them. The entrepreneurial spirit and dedication led them to donate the money they earned to No Kid Hungry. By the time Chris was in 6th grade, he and his friend Alex realized that this idea could be replicated and expanded to involve many more children. They decided to transform it into a larger organization, aiming to inspire younger children to create small businesses and make a bigger impact for children's charities.

About Chris -
I am currently 12 years old and live in Houston, Texas. I attend Seven Lakes Junior High and am going into 7th grade. I love tennis, math, and reading!
I have been playing tennis for almost a year and plan to continue improving my skills. Whenever I have the time, I usually like to read, especially adventure and fiction books. I am very passionate about this business and hope it can be successful and help many kids.
I am excited to see the positive impact my efforts can have on the community and am dedicated to making a difference. In addition to my hobbies, I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My goal is to inspire other kids to pursue their passions and make a positive impact in their own ways.

VICE PRESIDENT
ALEX ZHANG

About Alex -
Hey! I'm Alex! I'm in 7th grade, and I live in Houston, Texas. My favorite subject is science, and I'm in SciOly. I also like reading nonfiction and nonfiction only because to me, reading fiction is something for your free time, and I don't usually get a lot of that. I also swim because I guess I just like playing in water. I also used to do debate, and I've played piano for about 7 years. I immigrated to Texas in 2017, just a few months before hurricane Harvey hit. I was so touched by the generosity and kind nature of those around me. During the storm, many people lost electricity, water, and some even lost their homes. It was truly a terrible time. However, we slowly recovered. Many selfless strangers didn't even hesitate to help others in need. I believe that these kind people helped the community so much. It just seemed so amazing, being able to help and give back to the beautiful communities surrounding us. This feeling of gratitude to these wonderful people is what drove me to join Bookmark League I hope you've already found the power of giving, and if you haven't, I hope you'll discover it in the future. Please join us on our mission to help and give these amazing kids a wonderful eye-opening experience. Whether that may be a donation, a purchase of our products, or joining our organization, I hope you'll help make this world a better place, one step at a time.
